we was on our way to the hepworth gallery it was throwing it down with rain. When we got there we walked in and put our lunchboxers and coats in this locker. Then we went into this room we sat down on the floor and this lady told us abit of barbra hepworth and henry moore. Then we got a pencil and a clipboard and some paper we went around the gallery sketching then we went to do some sketching on a1 paper we moved around to different sculptures. After that we went around in are groups looking at more sculptures then we had lunch we went outside it was still raining we got soacking wet we went in side and did some more sketching and then it was home time.

had a circle time and tlked about how to be a better friend and made some friendship posters

This week we are reading yr1, the poem, The Sound Collector by Roger McGough. The children have been busy collecting sounds around school, to write their own sound collector poem.

this week year 6 has done there sats
this week so far in year 4 we have been dooing a lot of things such as;
I.C.T- wakefiled musiem work in school with Louise, but last week it was Louise and 2 ladys from the london musiem. We got to use ipods and ipads and props.
English- in english we have been working on explanation texts about how a cat feeding machine works and how our own star catching machine works. This week we are on to poetry and we had tou pick our faverot poem out of 3 and add sound afects and actions mine and charlotte’s was the funniest one.
maths- in maths this week we have been doing capassatie with water, we made our own containers to put in popcorn seeds, today we had to write down the corect mesiourments.
guided reading- guided reading is were you are in groups with coulors you will even read with your teacher or read with your T.A or read to your sellf or do follow up work.
Thursday the 8th of march 2012 we had a proformance about barbra hepworth life she was a sculptor. All threw her life she loved art this is a picture of one of her artwork.
ruby did art she had a helper his name was bob! she did some things like barbara hepworth.After the show our class had a workshop it was very good we made scultors with our shoes. we had a very good day.
Last friday was our grand opening of ” Fort Owen”. We released balloons , sang a special song and raised our spongebob flag in memory of our special friend Owen Wightman.
This week panthers class have been contuning non-chronological report writing in literacy linking our topic the Amazon. On Thursday we enjoyed watching a drama production learning lots of interesting facts about Barbara Hepworth. This inspired us to be creative when enjoying an arts afternoon creating structures using marshmellows and potatoes! See for yourself…
